"Beware the Jabberwock, my son!
The jaws that bite, the claws that catch!" - Lewis Carroll Jabberwocky

Just a half dozen years into the 20th century, a virulent plague swept across the world. Those who died from it rose as mindless, animated corpses bent on devouring the living, their victims rising in turn and continuing to spread the infection. Almost three quarters of the human population perished. At the same time, across every land there also crept a strange blight , corrupting and twisting every living thing it touched that did not die outright.
Now, almost two hundred years later, humanity still sits on the brink, huddled into cities surrounded by vast, blackened wastelands, remaining ever vigilant against outbreaks of the disease that spawns the walking dead, especially amongst the squalid lower classes.
In the city of London, the legendary fog has given way to thick smog from cramped industrial smokestacks along the Thames, as well as the black soot and ash billowing from the ceaselessly running crematories. Beyond the reanimates, the city has new horrors stalking its streets unimagined in times before the plague. Abominations have been unleashed in the wake of the elusive, scientific pursuit of immortality. Cults of psychopaths perform the sacraments of their patron saint, Jack the Ripper. Even vampires of legend can be found skulking about the dark cobblestone alleyways.
These are wretched times. In such an age, what are those of high standing, the blue-blooded aristocrats and children of the captains of industry - lives extended through alchemical elixirs, yet bored with the endless, tired social maneuverings, political squabbles and general miasma of life - to do?
Go hunt down the monsters, of course.
Welcome to the Jabberwock Club, a discrete gentleman's (and gentle woman's) organization dedicated to helping the upper crust find some true life-and-death thrills and excitement in the otherwise stifling environs of Neo-Victorian London. Membership is discrete, as one will often rub shoulders with the likes of Undertakers and East End criminals, but bracing evenings of adventure are guaranteed. If you survive.
The Jabberwock Club is a role-playing campaign set in the world of Unhallowed Metropolis, using the core rule book's game system with some minor modifications
